Why does India not win at Olympics?

Update: It seems I was wrong about Olympics telecast in India. DD Sports is telecasting it through out the day, and I am loving it 🙂 But then DD was the source of the misleading information, come on people if you are telecasting such a huge event, the least you can do is put up a TV schedule on your site.

Because even the National Broadcasters are apathetic. The Olympics are to start tomorrow and the only Doordarshan has the rights to telecast it. I have no problem with DD telecasting any match; the pathetic part is that it is going to show only those tournaments where India is participating. And to top that check the schedule that they have released right now (in the link above), only half to one hour of telecast daily and at what time? 12:30 in the night, 7:30 early morning! There does not seem to be any live telecast, only deferred live 😡

What does that mean? We do not get to see any Hockey matches, we do not get to see any Football matches, and most probably once the heats are over we do not get to see any Athletic events.

If what Gilchrist, Waugh and other senior players are pushing for comes true (to include T20 in the 2020 Olympic games), we would see a cut throat competition, with soaring advertisement rates.

I hope when ESPN Star telecast 2012 Olympics, at least they have the sanity to show all events, and at the time it is happening, not “deferred live”.

I was hoping Youtube would come to my rescue [source], but now it says the channel is not available in your country 😦
